Tired of the Typical Christmas Party?

Im really not much of a party person.

I mean, I don't mind going to parties or get togethers, but I really prefer the simple hang-out-chilling-at-a-coffee-shop setup than the let's-party-til-tomorrow-morning kinda thing. Given that the December Fever has now made manifest, people and companies are holding and attending parties left and right!

With mostly food fiestas and corporate parties reigning the December party scene, what other Christmas get-together alternatives are there? Here are a few alternatives you can do for a different party feel:

Elite Body Tuesday

You could check out Elite Body Philippines at the Liquid Bar at the Manila Ocean Park. This night of "redefining ultimate beauty" is going down tomorrow night (December 13, 2011). Tickets are at P150 per head, and open house is at 7pm. The show proper goes down at 8pm.

Fifteen beautiful ladies will grace the stage with their beauty, and heighten your senses. So if you're after a beautiful alternative to gather this season, Elite Body Philippines just might be for you and your buddies! The event does strictly require you to come in Smart Casual Attire and you must be at least 16 years of age to enter. Elite Body Philippines is presented by RESULTS Inc.

*The Liquid Bar is located at the Manila Ocean Park, Quirino Grandstand, Metro Manila.

EVENT UPDATE: No more ticketing! So that means entrance is free!

A Cosplay Christmas Party

If super heroes, scheming villans and loving comics is your thing, then perhaps a Cosplay Christmas party is the thing for you and your buddies! It doesn't have to be held in an expensive venue! Why not you or friend's house?! Why not make that your office party?

Dress up as your fave comic icon. Come up with drinks and food named after comic book characters to get that vibe going! Put up a few flatscreens with different Marvel and DC movies just playing on mute to give that comic feel!
You can even go über geeky and even make it a comic quiz night! I mean, c'mon, given the DC reboot, there's a lot of info in that universe that has been rendered obsolete!

Cost will really depend on how comic you'll go! Hey, maybe you can get some sponsors, I'm sure that will surely save the day!

U.P. Lantern Parade

If you want to go super low cost, but the experience will be truly memorable, go and watch the University of the Philippine's Lantern Parade at the Diliman campus. The lantern parade will showcase a variety of Lantern Floats from the colleges of the UP Diliman campus. Creativity runs amok and the quirks of each float is something to look forward to.

No entrance fees.

No seating.

What about food? There will be food carts and stalls scattered around campus, but if you get there a bit early, hobble over to the "Isaw Place" beside the UP Post Office. Authentic UP Isaw goodness. Or you can flag one of those "Monay with Cheese" biker boys. But if you're looking for a place to sit down and enjoy a real meal, you may head out to the Techno Hub or to Katipunan to select from good old fast food and fine dining establishments. But if you want to get to taste authentic UP Diliman cuisine, check out the University Shopping Center.

The Lantern Parade kicks off at 5pm on December 16, 2011, though arriving two to three hours earlier to explore the other attractions at UP Diliman during Christmas season isn't a bad idea either.
